Rohr expects tougher clash as Eagles go again against Libya

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr is not underrating the Libyan national team ahead of both sides’ matchday 4 encounter of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers today (Tuesday).

The Eagles had secured a 4-0 victory at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom over the weekend and are already in Sfax, Tunisia where they will play Libya again in the reverse fixture of the tie.

“The game will be tougher than the last one. It’s always difficult to play the same team twice in three days and win both games, but we’re just as motivated and hungry for victory as we were on Saturday,” Rohr stated in a Tweet posted on Super Eagles’ Twitter handle.

The win last weekend improved the Super Eagles’ chances of making a return to Africa’s biggest soccer competition after failing to qualify for the last two editions.

Nigeria are placed second in Group E on six points from three games, one point behind group leaders South Africa, who will also play against Seychelles in the group’s other game, as the race for Cameroon 2019 continues.

The game between Libya and Nigeria will take place at the Stade TaĂŻeb Mhiri, Sfax and kick off by 7:00p.m Nigeria time.
