Musa wins player of the week prize in Saudi Arabian League

Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa has been voted the best player of week three in the Saudi Arabia Premier League following his display for Al Nassr.

The 25-year-old, who moved from Leicester City at the start of the season, opened his league goals account for Al Nassr with a hat-trick last Wednesday.

He scored thrice in his team’s 3-0 win over Al-Qadisiyah in a Saudi Arabian Professional League fixture – a win that placed them at the top of the table at the time.

“Thank you to all the people who voted for me. It is always an honour to have your respect and support. 🙏🙏🙏💙💛 @AlNassrFC @AlNassrFC_EN,” the forward wrote on Twitter.

Musa also received the sum of 10,000 Saudi Riyal – an equivalent of N970,045.83 along with the accolade.

Al Nassr defeated Al-Taawoun in a home game on Monday, but are currently second on the league table with an inferior goal difference to leaders Al-Hilal, who are also with 12 points from their opening four games.

Musa has been impressive in the national team too even after his World Cup performance as he was one of the goalscorers in Super Eagles’ 3-0 victory at Seychelles.

The former Kano Pillars forward is expected to be named in Gernot Rohr’s squad for their 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers against Libya in October.
