Imo Task Force vows to recover 67 govt cars in custody of ex-Gov Okorocha, wife
Immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and wife, Nkechi, have been accused of keeping in their custody, no less than 67 vehicles belonging to the state government.
The allegation was levelled on the former governor, who is a serving senator, by the chairman of the state task force, Jasper Ndubuaku.
Ndubuaku, who made this known when he briefed newsmen in Owerri, the state capital on Wednesday, vowed that 6,000 people, including mechanics, will be mobilised to forcefully recover the cars and other state properties, he claimed the former governor, wife and aides, have refused to release.
“As I speak, the formr governor has about 60 vehicles including the outriders he was using when he was in government intact; his wife has about seven vehicles; his driver has a land cruiser jeep.
“We would use the people to recover our property; most of them such as the mechanics have already indicated interest in working with us; by the time we move in with about 6,000 people, they wouldn’t have the choice than to submit them,” he said.

He added, “All the buses bought by the former governor for the 27 council chairmen in the state have been converted to school buses and missionary buses; even the 27 tipper lorries and payloaders have all disappeared; if you go to the ministry, even the smallest generators cannot be found.”
According to the task force chairman, he has the mandate of Governor Emeka Ihedioha to recover all the movable properties still in the custody of Okorocha, his relatives and those who worked with him.
