35-yr-old man Jailed for raping minor
Ayegunle Adekunle, 35, is now cooling his heels in police net after he was arrested for allegedly defiling an unnamed three-year-old girl.
The suspect who was arrested on Wednesday October 17, 2018, by men of the Ogun State Police Command is said to be a co-tenant of the parents of the victim in the Oriokuta area of Ota, in the state.
According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Public Relations Officer, the matter was reported at the Onipan Police Station by the victim’s mother who discovered bloodstains on the pant and private parts of her daughter.
Oyeyemi said the girl told her mother that the suspect lured her into his room and defiled her.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed that the case be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution,” he added.
